The workshop is followed by 4-6 short mentoring sessions with smaller groups. These sessions are scheduled approximately once in two weeks based on mutual convenience.
This is the Teacher Development Program in Action (TDP-A). A teaching technique or an issue is taken as a theme for a session. Everyone in the group expresses an opinion or usefulness of the technique to his/her context. The members are encouraged to apply the learning to their context and come back to share their experience in the next session. Actual experiences, challenges, outcomes of experiments, lessons learnt are discussed with one mentor from Inspiring Teachers.

The program-in-action is designed for participants to practice a given technique in their teaching and share their learning with the group. We practice leadership, coordination and communication skills in these sessions by:

  • changing group leader by turns – leader has to coordinate next meeting and minute the current meeting
  • making everyone speak in every session
  • by making everyone write briefly the session take-away

Depending on the available time and initiative of the participants, some of the following activities will be taken up:
  • Watching an inspiring teacher in action – attending a class by him/her
  • Spending a working day with an inspiring teacher
  • Informal sessions with mentor
  • E-internship with a teacher/administrator (level 3)
