Curtain raiser: An open mind is essential to receive new ideas and effect any change in oneself. This is the essence of the curtain raiser. We present the thought behind this program and its format to all the teachers of the institute and invite those who are interested to register. A desire for change and determination to complete the program are pre-requisites to enter.

Those who register for the program go to the next stage in the pre-workshop module, which is the self-assessment and goal setting stage.

Depending on the level of the program we complete this stage using one or more of the following methods for each participant: 

• 
  informal introductory session to know the participant 
  
• constructive feedback on participant’s microteaching by experts and peers 
  
• written assessment to understand the strengths and areas of improvement   
  
  This assessment is discussed with the participant to enable her/him to set her/his goals from the program.
